“Humans are not part of nature; we are of nature “Humans are not part of nature; we are of nature.”

“…nearly everything in the human story depends on the quality of our connections to one another.”

“Every person we meet is a particular movement or arrangement of energy, like a piece of music.”

“At its root, deep listening is about receiving life with an open heart.”

“The moment I react, I have no future; I become bound only to physical, mental, and emotional habits belonging to the past.”

“Emergence occurs when we relate in mutual witness to create more space, more presence, more attunement – even and especially when past relational patterns show up again.”

“My shadow cannot exist without your shadow, just as your trauma cannot exist without others to initiate, share, and reinforce it.”

Quotes by Thomas Hübl from “Attuned.”

A few years ago, I discovered the work of Thomas Hübl while exploring the topics of consciousness, energy, and collective trauma. His 2023 book, “Attuned - Practicing Interdependence to Heal Trauma – and Our World,” is a gateway into human development, connection, and understanding the relational field.

Thomas Hübl’s Attuned reminds us that the whole and the part exist in unity; we are not isolated individuals but participants in a relational field.

The human nervous system connects us to one another. Only when we are attuned to ourselves can we truly feel connected to another. Presence is the most precious gift we can offer. Through attunement, we perceive both our inner world and the collective fields that shape us. As Hübl says, we are at once the particle and the wave.

Hübl proposes transparent communication as a practice that deepens our relationship with ourselves and strengthens our sense of belonging with others.

Stillness is being. Movement is becoming.

In stillness, we find the clarity to navigate complexity. In stillness, new energy rises.

When life flows only on autopilot, we miss the subtle cues for growth until a crisis wakes us up. Hübl challenges us to attune differently: to pause, listen, and respond with awareness.

💙What if healing, of ourselves, our teams, and our world, begins with attunement?

Everything is maths! This is what my father told Everything is maths!

This is what my father told me when I was little. In the States, math is used as the term versus maths.

As a child, I would attend my father’s college lectures. He was a mathematics professor. I would take notes and sit next to his students. They liked having me in class. I loved the equations and symbols on the chalkboard. After class, I would try to impress my dad with my knowledge from his lectures and say, “Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Omega” as I showed him my notes. It was all Greek to me!

My father died in 2012, leaving a noticeable void in my life. I feel his presence a lot, but it has been amplified this year with numerous signs and synchronicities.

Of late, I have been drawn to equations. Famous equations and not-so-famous ones. Not sure why. Perhaps it is the adult version of me paying closer attention to what my father said to me as a child.

So, I was thinking, what types of equations are there for leadership? With a bit of help from some artificial neural networks, I have co-created my first one. I chose a quadratic equation that shows how variables interact.

Translation?

Leadership isn’t a straight line. It’s a system.

You can’t “stack” leadership skills like bricks. You have to see how they connect, amplify, or diminish each other, just like in a system with feedback loops.

Small changes in one area, for example, ego management, can have outsized effects on the whole.

⚫ Self-awareness, self-mastery, vision, and integrity multiply when they work together.

⚫ Ego compounds as a penalty.

⚫ Adaptability lifts the whole system.

The takeaway: the key to leadership is about managing yourself, balancing strengths, minimizing ego, and amplifying adaptability.

🎯 Coaching Q: Which part of your equation needs the most attention right now?

Presence is what builds trust, inspires teams, and Presence is what builds trust, inspires teams, and activates change.

Are you rehashing your pain and mistakes instead of learning and moving forward?

Your team needs the version of you who is rooted in the present.

A wise leader tends to the soil they stand in, not to the field they have left behind.
